Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company, the development arm of the Riyadh Municipality, has announced today the signing of a 10-year partnership agreement with solutions by stc, the agreement is to implement, manage, operate, and maintain the first phase of the general plan for public vehicle parking in Riyadh. solutions by stc will lead a local and global alliance with one of the world’s largest parking facility operators for this project.
A Public-Private Partnership (PPP) was signed today at the Riyadh Municipality. The agreement covers 24,000 parking spaces in public and commercial streets and more than 140,000 managed parking spaces in various residential neighborhoods. The project is designed to prevent cars from crowding adjacent residential areas, ensuring residents’ comfort and minimizing random parking within their neighborhoods.
The goal of the project is to utilize cutting-edge digital technologies and global best practices to oversee and regulate the usage of parking spaces in Riyadh. This will ensure that the users of parking spaces will adhere to safety and security protocols, comply with regulations and guidelines, and ultimately enhance the city’s overall urban environment.
His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region and Chairman of Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company, highlighted the significance of this project in the broader context of Riyadh Municipality’s strategies being implemented by “Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company, “The project is an important step towards managing parking spaces at crucial locations in Riyadh. The Mayor has also stated that the project aims to reduce unauthorized parking on commercial streets, prevent cars from overflowing into nearby residential areas, and enhance the urban landscape of Riyadh. “Ultimately, the project’s objective is to improve the quality of life and traffic flow for both the residents and visitors of the capital city of the Kingdom,” the Mayor said.
Abdullah bin Sulaiman Abudawood, the CEO of Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company, stated that the recently signed agreement marks the beginning of a comprehensive project aimed at organizing public parking in Riyadh.
“This project is part of an overall strategy that includes the development of infrastructure for public parking, improvements to sidewalks, and the provision of pedestrian pathways,” Abudawood said and added that this project demonstrates Remat Al-Riyadh Development Company’s commitment to achieving sustainable development and transformative advancements in municipal services in Riyadh.
Commenting on the partnership agreement, Engineer Omer Al-Nomany, CEO of solutions by stc, stated that the agreement represents a significant milestone for all partners. Also the agreement is the first public-private-partnership agreement that unites solutions by stc and the stc Group with the public sector as partners.
